JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMAICA --- JAMA

2 weeks and 119 pictures later (make sure to check them out!)and we're finally finished updating our Jamaica trip! Now...just to write a summary of our trip (that's the impossible part!).

It was a really neat experience in which we were involved in a whole variety of different ministries. We visited a total of 18 different public schools, orphanages, and nursing homes as well as put on 2 evening open air events, went to 1 prayer meeting, did 1 youth event, and 4 church services.

While neither of us experienced any major culture shock, it was a very different culture than what we're used to. It's a very poor country but they are a very formal people - more often than not, even when we tried to dress up we felt under-dressed. They do not run by the clock as we are so used to. In some situations, an hour after the event started was not yet late - you're only late if you miss the entire event. It was actually refreshing to get away from the crazy schedules we run by. The Jamaican people are very open to the Gospel - something that was so encouraging to see because our cultures have strayed so far from any interest in Biblical things. So we had a lot of opportunites to share the Gospel message with all different age groups.

The kids in the schools and orphanages loved us instantly and were very responsive to the message we shared with them. There were about 110 salvations (only God really knows!) and the majority of them were kids.

Well, it would take a book to write about our experiences and how God was working in Jamaica - we don't have the time or the ambition to write that book :) but there are 119 pictures (and a picture is worth a thousand words, right?) so we'll have to let the pictures tell the stories.

Thanks so much for all you who supported us both financially and also through prayer. We couldn't have done it  without you standing behind us! Thanks so much!
